Dr. Sam Ward, Assistant Professor, Department of Entomology, the Ohio State University

Description: This talk will cover the mechanisms that enable non-native forest insects to move between continents. It will evaluate how patterns of arrival change among insect groups, between countries, and through time and discuss what is being done to combat invasions before they start.

Bio: Sam is an Assistant Professor of Forest Entomology in the Department of Entomology at Ohio State. His research group focuses on understanding drivers of the arrival, establishment, and spread of non-native insects and aims to mitigate ecological and economic impacts of invaders.
